Murata Power Solutions
has introduced two new ranges of low profile, drum core, shielded surface mount inductors. The 2900 and 2900L series are ideal for use in low-power, line-filtering applications in consumer, industrial, and telecom applications.
The compact dimensions of the new parts make them especially useful in designs where PCB real-estate and height are limited. The 2900 series measures 7.2mm (0.283in.) x 7.2mm x 4.0mm (0.157in.) high. The 2900L series has the same footprint but offers a reduced overall height of just 3.15mm (0.124in.). An integral shield is a feature of all parts making them appropriate for designs where EMI sensitivity is a concern. Operating temperature range is -40ºC to +85ºC.
Both the 2900 and 2900L series are available with inductance values ranging from 1.0µH to 1.0mH. All parts are RoHS and J-STD-020-C reflow compliant, and use UL 94V-0 rated materials in their construction. Tape and reel packaging makes the new inductors suitable for automated assembly processes.
