    News Release

New Common Mode Chokes Reduce Noise in EMC Sensitive Applications

    • 0.47mH to 4.7mH inductance and up to 700mA current rating
    • Attenuation up to 100MHz
    • Compact 7.0mm x 5.9mm x 4.4mm size and industry standard pad layout

    February 2007, Mansfield, Massachusetts
Murata Power Solutions has expanded its magnetics product range with the introduction of the 5000 series of surface-mount common mode chokes. The new range provides line filtering for designers of power converters looking to reduce unwanted common mode noise in EMC sensitive applications.

The 5000 series offers inductance values ranging from 0.47mH to 4.7mH and a DC current rating of up to 700mA. Able to attenuate at frequencies of up to 100MHz, the new devices are suited to use in low current DC input switching power supplies and telecom applications.

Compact dimensions of just 7.0mm x 5.9mm x 4.4mm and an industry standard pad layout facilitate the design-in of 5000 series parts into existing applications in addition to new designs. All package materials are UL94 V-0 rated and the devices are RoHS and JEDEC J-STD-020-C reflow compliant. Operating temperature range is -40ºC to +85ºC.
