Summary: Support a power supply development project from kick-off through to qualification.
Troubleshooting of analog and power conversion circuits by analysis and calculation - i.e. deduce which component is defective without having to replace a component and re-test the product.
|
| Responsibilities :The incumbent must know the behavior of analog electronic components, their limitations and be able to analyze circuit behavior.
Applicants must know, in detail, the definitions and application impact of specified parameters of BJT's, MOSFETs, opamps, comparators and diodes.
Experience repairing analog circuitry to the component level using discrete (not automated) test equipment.
Preference will be given to persons who have performed analog circuit repair in a non-automated, low volume environment like repair shop, low volume/high dollar value manufacturing, hobby work, or development lab.
The incumbent will perform root cause failure analysis of analog and power conversion circuits, including component stress evaluation. Ideally the candidate has the skills to prove and document if a performance or failure problem is design or component related.
The ideal candidate will have performed test and evaluation on operating analog circuitry using discrete test equipment as is typical of a low volume high dollar-value manufacturer where testing and repair is not extensively automated.
|
Education/Experience:
- 3 year diploma in Electronics Engineering Technology, CET preferred.
- Demonstrated understanding of analog electronic circuits with mathematical analysis skills.
- Sound knowledge of electronic components, their characteristics and specifications.
- Understanding and operation of electronic measurement instruments and techniques
- Good hands-on skills for electronic bread boarding and mechanical assembly/modification
- Proven documentation skills and familiarity with standard PC office and CAD software.
- Very well organized to support concurrent design and development projects and tasks.
- Ability to work in a team environment or work independently using effective time management skills.
- Good communication skills, written and oral.
- Minimum of 3 years electronic circuit troubleshooting to the component level, (preferably with power conversion products)
- Familiarity with mass production requirements and processes for electronic assemblies.
- Familiarity with product development and introduction to production process.
- Experience performing product qualification (i.e. EMI, safety, shock and vibration)
